The Smoking Cessation Program was developed by Pfizer scientists specifically to help smokers quit. A medication called CHANTIX™ (varenicline) is prescribed in combination with counseling, and lifestyle management, to help you learn to break the smoking routine.
How does CHANTIX work?

The addiction to smoking is caused by receptors in the brain that nictoine attaches to. It is believed that CHANTIX™ (varenicline) works by blocking nicotine from attaching to these receptors.

The smoking cessation program is particularly useful for patients who are required to quit smoking prior to a surgical procedure or for those who have tried to quit smoking in the past but were unsuccessful
